Faisal Mosque,Islamabad:
The Faisal Mosque is situated in northernmost end of Islamabad, Pakistan‘s capital. It is the largest mosque in Pakistan and South Asia and the third largest mosque in the whole world. It covers an area of 54,000 sq ft. The Faisal Mosque is named after the King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz who financed its construction. It prayer hall is in the shape of one massive triangle and its minarets are pencil like in their structure. It has capacity to accommodate a total of 300,000 worshipers.
Badshahi Mosque,Lahore:
The Badshahi Mosque would be translated the king’s mosque and literally means Emperors Mosque. It is situated in Lahore and is the second largest mosque in Pakistan. Its construction was started in May 1671by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. The beautiful mosque shows the greatness and glory of Mughal emperor. Its courtyard covers an area of 278,784 sq ft. It has capacity to accommodate a total of 110000 worshipers at a time.
Tooba Mosque,Karachi:
Tooba Mosque is situated in Karachi and it is the largest city of Pakistan. Its construction was started in 1969.One of its common names is Gol Masjid. It has capacity to accommodate a total 5000 worshipers. It is the largest single dome mosque in the world. Its dome is 236 ft in diameter which is very beautiful and is built by using a special material developed by white marble. It has a single minaret 70 meter high.
Mohabbat Khan Mosque,Peshawar:
Mohabbat khan Mosque is located in Peshawar, NWFP Pakistan. Its construction was started in 1670 under Mughal Emperor. The Mohabbat Khan Mosque is named after Nawab Mohabbat Khan who was the Mughal governor of the Peshawar. It has orthodox in design and an ablution pond in its central. It is also called 17th century mosque.
Eid Gah Mosque,Multan:
The Eid Gah Mosque is situated in Multan which is an important city of Pakistan. It is located on the main Multan-Lahore highway. Its construction was started in 1735 by Nawab Abdul Samad Khan who was the governor of Multan at that time. It has capacity to accommodate a total 2000 people. It has seven domes. Primarily it is orthodox in design and not very strong. It is built by using a special material developed by marble, chalk stone, and fusing clay.
Suneri Mosque,Lahore:
The Suneri Mosque is situated in Lahore and also known as golden mosque. It was constructed in 1735 by Nawab Syed Bhikari Khan who was the deputy governor of Lahore at that time. It is located in the middle of Kashmir bazaar. It has three domes and covered with marble and one beautiful gateway. Its length is 21 meters.
